My male cat started urinating just drops at a time, and the weekend was coming up, so I watched that he wasn’t crying or plugged and started adding water to his dry and canned food. I also gave him some urinary tract support tablets for cats. He wasn’t getting better or worse, and I remembered methigel from my time working at a vet’s office and ordered that for arrival the next day. In less than 2 days he began urinating normally. I’m sure the recovery was a combination of the extra water, the methigel, and maybe the tablets, so I can’t say methigel is some miracle paste. But he ate it readily added to his food, and the price is good. People object to the added sugars, and I agree, but knowing this was a temporary issue, I didn’t have a problem with that and it is vet-recommended. Yes, it’s sticky, but the gel is thick, not runny so wipe off the tube if necessary. It worked for my cat, and I plan to add it to his food a couple times a week as a preventative urine acidifier.
