American Standard Evolution 60 in. Left Drain Soaking Tub in White

Our awful 1978 stock cast iron (9″ effective depth) tub rusted out and needed replacement. I’m a 6’4″ bath junkie and so usually only half of my body would ever be in the water. After many hours of online research comparing hundreds of tubs, we settled on this 5′ Evolution as the best, deepest tub we could find for such a small space. Between its increased height, comfy shape, and max-volume overflow design, I am now a very happy camper! The only downside I can foresee would be if you have physically disabled or elderly folks using the tub: the sides are a bit high and getting in and out (from lying prone) takes a bit more effort and coordination than with a typical, shallower tub. One note: since the tub basin is unsupported plastic/acrylic, make sure your installers mount its basin onto a solid mound of concrete (or equivalent) so it doesn’t strain, squeak, or split. (Fortunately, our installers did a great job.)
